Position: Trade Control Analyst
Location: London, UK
Overview: A leading global energy trading firm is seeking a Trade Control Analyst to join their team in London. This role involves daily validation of physical and financial energy transactions, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations, and supporting end-of-day processes for Position and PNL reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Validate daily physical and financial energy transactions (Gas, Power, Emissions, LNG).
- Ensure timely validation of relevant market data information.
- Support end-of-day processes in ETRM systems.
- Monitor unauthorized trades and trader mandates/limits.
- Conduct month-end and quarter-end checks for transactions.
- Drive automation efforts and support digitalization processes.
- Monitor compliance with financial regulations (EMIR, Dodd-Frank, REMIT, MiFID II).
- Act as a backup for other trade control team members.
Candidate Specifications:
- University degree in a numeracy-oriented discipline (e.g., Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering, Risk Management).
- Experience in Product Control/Market Risk/Middle Office/Risk management in a commodity trading company.
- Advanced knowledge of risk metrics and internal control systems.
- Proficiency in IT systems and programming languages (Excel, VBA, Power BI, SQL, Openlink Endur, Python).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proactive and results-oriented, with experience in an international team environment.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
