A specialty insurance firm providing professional liability insurance solutions is looking to add a Statutory Reporting Manager to their Reinsurance Accounting side of the business. They are looking to expand into new markets, with a targeted and noticeable plan for growth over the next few years. You will be reporting into the CFO and SVP of Reinsurance Accounting, so there is significant exposure to senior leadership giving you the opportunity to grow up the ladder quickly. This position must be worked 5 days a week in person in Garden City, New York.
What you will do…
- Prepare and submit statutory financial reports
- Ensure accuracy and compliance of balance sheet and income statement reconciliations
- Review month-end close activities for errors and prepare journal entries.
- Participate in annual financial audits and work with external auditors.
- Collaborate with departments to prepare and file quarterly and annual statutory statements.
- Act as a liaison between different sides of the business
What you will need to be successful:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 2+ years statutory accounting experience
- Yellow Book and Schedule F experience preferred but not required
- CPA, Master's, or MBA preferred but not required
