A top credit focused fund is looking to bring on a Directer/MD level Credit Analyst to idea generate (within a sector specific context) for a growing CLO platform.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and recognize industry trends through industry research, interviews with company management team members and other sources
- Conduct industry research utilizing databases, historical information, analyst reports, relevant legislative and political decisions/movement, etc.
- For specific investment opportunities, evaluate historical financial performance, market position, competitive dynamics, cost structure, supply chain, regulatory environment, ESG risks and credit agreement terms, and create cash flow projection models under various scenarios. Form an opinion and investment thesis on each credit put forth and be prepared to speak about it in investment committee
- Monitor the loans in the portfolio including analyzing financial performance, participating in earnings calls and summarizing findings and recommendations in both brief and detailed form. They have a sector coverage model where each analyst is responsible for one or more industry sectors. No particular sector experience is required.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- Ability to build cash flow projection models, analytical financial models
- Strong understanding of the risk assumptions made in underwriting leveraged loans
- Excellent communication skills: ability to write cohesive and concise analysis of credits with the ability to communicate them verbally as well as answer questions thoughtfully and factually
- Ability to work independently and in a team; contributing to the team's success
- Open to exploring new opportunities or responsibilities when presented
