About the Firm:
Our client is a leading global provider of life reinsurance solutions, focusing on structured finance, reinsurance, and regulatory entity support. They are looking to expand their team by adding a Director of Structured Finance who will play a key role in coordinating complex transactions and leading cross-functional teams.
Position Overview:
The Director, Structured Finance, will lead project teams to develop financing solutions for the company's regulatory entities, ensuring accuracy in transaction details and improving internal financing processes. This role involves managing complex reinsurance transactions, working closely with legal, accounting, and technical experts, and leading negotiations with external parties to ensure financing needs are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting into the VP of Structured Finance, will help lead and coordinate a project team to structure and complete complex reinsurance transactions, working across various internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in analyzing transactions and resolve issues by collaborating with technical experts in finance, accounting, legal, tax, and more.
- Manage negotiations with external parties and implement legal entity optimization strategies.
- Establish and manage processes to ensure financing transactions and support are properly implemented.
- Work with business units to assess financing needs and design solutions, including reinsurance structures, securities lending, and capital market strategies.
- Oversee financial reporting functions related to structured finance transactions, including preparing financial reports, reconciling general ledger accounts, and coordinating with other departments.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit processes, and manage internal and external audit requests.
- Provide leadership and support to team members, promoting process improvements and timely responses to internal and external customer needs.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or actuarial science (or equivalent work experience).
- 8+ years of experience in accounting, auditing, or structured finance.
- Strong understanding of the US Life insurance and reinsurance markets.
- Advanced skills in designing and structuring financing solutions, including reinsurance and capital market strategies.
- Excellent oral and written communication, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
- Flexibility to work across international time zones and travel domestically and internationally as required.
