Job Description:
We are currently seeking an experienced Underwriter to join the team. In this role, you will focus on underwriting self-funded stop-loss and employee benefits. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to contribute to a growing and innovative organization in the insurance space.
Responsibilities:
- Underwrite self-funded stop-loss insurance and employee benefits policies.
- Assess and analyze risk for employer groups to determine appropriate pricing and coverage.
- Work closely with brokers, clients, and internal teams to provide underwriting support and expertise.
- Stay informed of industry trends, regulations, and emerging risks within the stop-loss and employee benefits market.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and refine underwriting guidelines and policies.
- Participate in special projects, including the development of the company's expanding captive unit.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Significant experience in underwriting self-funded stop-loss and employee benefits.
- Expertise in captive insurance is strongly preferred, as the company is shifting focus to build out their captive unit.
- Ability to work independently and manage a high volume of cases while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with underwriting tools and software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving work environment.
Location:
This is a flexible position with the option to work fully remotely or out of one of the company's offices in Philadelphia, Southern Florida, or Georgia.
