We are representing a large, privately owned, full-service Managing General Underwriter (MGU) specializing in employer stop-loss coverage. With a team of 60 professionals across the United States, the company offers a dynamic work environment with a strong focus on providing innovative insurance solutions. Offices are located in Philadelphia, Southern Florida, and Georgia, with the flexibility to work fully remotely or out of one of these locations.

Job Description:
We are currently seeking an experienced Underwriter to join the team. In this role, you will focus on underwriting self-funded stop-loss and employee benefits. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to contribute to a growing and innovative organization in the insurance space.

Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite self-funded stop-loss insurance and employee benefits policies.
  • Assess and analyze risk for employer groups to determine appropriate pricing and coverage.
  • Work closely with brokers, clients, and internal teams to provide underwriting support and expertise.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, regulations, and emerging risks within the stop-loss and employee benefits market.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and refine underwriting guidelines and policies.
  • Participate in special projects, including the development of the company's expanding captive unit.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Significant experience in underwriting self-funded stop-loss and employee benefits.
  • Expertise in captive insurance is strongly preferred, as the company is shifting focus to build out their captive unit.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a high volume of cases while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with underwriting tools and software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving work environment.

Location:
This is a flexible position with the option to work fully remotely or out of one of the company's offices in Philadelphia, Southern Florida, or Georgia.
