We are currently partnering with one of the leading life insurance firms, offering the flexibility to work fully remotely from the comfort of your home. They are seeking a talented Senior Actuarial Associate to join their Valuation team. This position presents an exciting opportunity to work alongside industry experts, gaining valuable experience and skills that will propel your actuarial career forward.

As a Senior Actuarial Associate, you will focus on the Fixed Index Annuity and Deferred Annuity lines of business, as well as GAAP valuation. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish reserves and related balances for the Fixed Index Annuity and Deferred Annuity lines of business under the GAAP accounting basis.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state valuation regulations for the product lines.
  • Review and analyze quarterly reserve and balance movements for presentation to management and finance teams.
  • Manage the monthly production of reserves for GAAP valuation.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze reserve movements.
  • Maintain and enhance valuation controls, ensuring timely execution.
  • Update and maintain valuation programs to reflect new products and regulations.
  • Stay informed of new regulations and industry requirements.

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, actuarial science, or a related technical field.
  • ASA designation required; FSA and MAAA preferred.
  • 4+ years of actuarial experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Strong understanding of insurance company income statements and balance sheets.
  • Experience in maintaining a robust control environment.
  • Proven experience with the valuation of indexed products.
  • Familiarity with GGY-AXIS or similar actuarial modeling software is preferred.
