An international life insurance group is looking for a Senior Actuarial Consultant to assist with its entry into the retail US Fixed Indexed Annuity market. This position will be responsible for developing financial reporting and valuation for the retail FIA product, including model testing, control development, and management reporting. Post-launch, the role will be crucial in performing US GAAP, statutory and tax reserves, analyzing results, ensuring control performance, and communicating findings. The role is based in Hartford, Charlotte, or remote.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support new business initiative modeling, including user acceptance testing on statutory and US GAAP GGY Axis model development.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and valuation forFIA under USGAAP, statutory, and tax bases:
- Update and run the GGY Axis US GAAP valuation model quarterly.
- Assist with control performance, review, and documentation.
- Develop and execute cost of funds analysis for FIA business, including roll-forward attributions and sensitivity analysis for various market metrics and policyholder behaviors.
- Provide audit support for internal and external auditors.
- Maintain comprehensive model and process documentation.
- Complete Annual Statement, 10K, rating agency surveys, and other external reporting requirements.
- Foster collaborative relationships with key business partners, including Model Development, Finance, Accounting Operations, and Internal Audit.
- Mentor junior actuaries and team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, or a related field.
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance or finance, with involvement in actuarial valuation, modeling, and GGY Axis modeling software.
- Strong knowledge of Fixed Indexed Annuities is highly preferred.
- Excellent technical skills and attention to detail for reviewing model results, improving processes, and solving complex problems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels within the organization and external partners.
