Senior Analyst, Ceded Reinsurance
Job Summary:
The Senior Analyst, Ceded Reinsurance, will be responsible for supporting the management, analysis, and optimization of the company's ceded reinsurance program. The Senior Analyst will collaborate with underwriting, claims, finance, and other internal teams to ensure the effective administration of the ceded reinsurance portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze historical data, claims experience, and market trends to support the structuring of reinsurance treaties and pricing decisions. Provide insights on coverage adequacy and risk transfer strategies.
Support the pricing of ceded reinsurance programs by gathering and analyzing relevant data, assisting in the development of pricing models, and conducting sensitivity analyses to optimize treaty terms.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations on the performance of the ceded reinsurance program for internal stakeholders, including senior management, underwriting, and finance teams.
Assist in maintaining and improving the reinsurance management system. Ensure that data is accurate, up-to-date, and properly integrated with other systems in the organization.
Work closely with underwriting, finance, claims, and legal teams to ensure seamless communication and effective management of ceded reinsurance activities.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Finance, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or a related field. Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, or similar are a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in reinsurance, with a focus on ceded reinsurance analysis, pricing, or operations.
- Strong familiarity with reinsurance structures, treaty terms, and industry practices.
- Experience using reinsurance management systems (e.g., TAI, RMS) and Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to process large datasets and draw actionable insights.
- Proficiency in Excel (including advanced functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) and other analytical tools.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
