A High Frequency Trading Firm is hiring for a Observability Engineer.
Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 with discretionary bonus.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver top-tier support for a range of applications.
- Address production system incidents and document postmortems to prevent future occurrences.
- Create automation for administrative tasks related to user and group management.
- Test and automate application upgrades to stay current with vendor releases.
- Continuously enhance logging, monitoring, and alerting practices.
- Collaborate with vendor support to resolve third-party issues.
- Promote good observability practices across teams.
- Assist teams in identifying and utilizing data through dashboards and alerts.
Required Experience:
- Over 5 years of experience with various logging and monitoring tools.
- Proficiency in coding to automate repetitive tasks.
- Familiarity with CI/CD systems and workflows.
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
- A strong drive to improve workflows and processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
This role must sit in the firms Chicago office on a hybrid model.
