About the Role
Our client, a leading company in the technology and financial services space, is looking for an experienced FP&A Business Analyst to join their Technology Services team in Englewood, CO, or Mill Valley, CA (hybrid schedule). This position plays a critical role in bridging the gap between Finance (specifically FP&A) and Technology, ensuring that business needs are effectively captured and translated into technical solutions that align with strategic objectives.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment, with a solid understanding of financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the main point of contact between FP&A and technology teams, gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements.
Convert financial and operational needs into well-defined functional specifications for technical teams.
Develop and maintain process maps to document workflows, validations, and system interactions.
Engage with stakeholders through user interviews and document reviews to identify key business requirements.
Bridge the gap between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring clear communication of financial and system concepts.
Assist in the design and deployment of financial systems, data models, and reporting solutions to enhance FP&A functions.
Conduct gap analyses to identify improvements in existing financial and reporting processes.
Lead initiatives to streamline workflows, automate reporting, and improve overall efficiency while evaluating cost and time-saving opportunities.
Support system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and post-launch troubleshooting.
Monitor adoption of new financial technology features and provide necessary user support.
Handle ad-hoc reporting and analysis for senior leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
3-5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, specifically within FP&A or financial systems.
Strong knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
Familiarity with ERP and financial planning software.
Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) is a plus.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate financial requirements into technical solutions.
Experience working in Agile SDLC methodologies.
