Job Summary

A highly experienced and motivated Director is needed to specialize in Asset-Based Lending (ABL) and Special Situations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in stretched corporate asset-backed loans, leveraging assets such as inventory, receivables, real estate, and intellectual property. This role involves managing and growing the ABL portfolio, identifying investment opportunities, and working closely with the credit fund team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Management: Oversee and manage a portfolio of asset-based loans, ensuring optimal performance and risk management.
  • Deal Sourcing and Execution: Identify, evaluate, and execute investment opportunities in ABL and Special Situations, including distressed assets and turnaround scenarios.
  • Credit Analysis: Conduct thorough credit analysis and due diligence on potential investments, assessing the value and risk of underlying assets.
  • Structuring and Negotiation: Structure and negotiate loan terms, covenants, and agreements to protect the firm's interests and maximize returns.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with borrowers, industry contacts, and internal stakeholders.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes affecting ABL and Special Situations.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in asset-based lending, special situations, or related fields.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills; proficiency in financial modeling and credit analysis.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of asset-backed loans, including inventory, receivables, real estate, and intellectual property.
  • Attributes: Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong attention to detail.
