Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain SQL Server databases.
- Ensure the performance, security, and availability of databases.
- Perform database tuning and optimisation.
- Develop and maintain database documentation, including data models, schemas, and diagrams.
- Collaborate with developers to design and optimise queries.
- Implement and manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans.
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies and best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Database Engineer or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server and MongoDB, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Experience with ANSI SQL, DDL, DML, data normalisation and transaction
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimisation.
- Familiarity with database warehousing architectures
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Azure SQL Database).
- Knowledge of other database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Certification in SQL Server or related technologies.
