Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Commercial Underwriter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating and underwriting commercial insurance policies, ensuring compliance with company guidelines, and maintaining strong relationships with brokers and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate commercial insurance applications to determine risk and eligibility.
- Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant documents to make informed underwriting decisions.
- Collaborate with brokers and agents to gather necessary information and provide exceptional customer service.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, agents, and clients.
- Ensure compliance with company underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and present underwriting reports and recommendations to management.
- Monitor and review existing policies to ensure continued compliance and profitability.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial underwriting, preferably in a wholesale agency setting.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
