Company Overview:
Our client is a leader in property, casualty, management liability, and professional liability insurance, with a focus on the excess and surplus (E&S) lines market. They collaborate with brokers and wholesale agents nationwide to offer insurance solutions tailored for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Their mission is to become the top E&S carrier by utilizing advanced technical underwriting, operational efficiency, and sound risk management.
Role:
The AVP will lead the Middle Market Property underwriting team, aiming to build a profitable property insurance portfolio. Key responsibilities include managing underwriting operations, leading and motivating a team, and working with technical support to develop products and strategies. This position reports to the Deputy CUO of Property and involves about 25% travel.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- At least 5 years of advanced experience with E&S products and underwriting.
- Senior-level experience in P&C insurance, preferably at an E&S carrier.
- Strong leadership, strategic planning, and communication abilities.
- A bachelor's degree is preferred; CPCU, AU, or CIC credentials are a plus.
