Key Responsibilities:
- Bring your actuarial expertise to the table, interpreting and analyzing financials to drive impactful decision-making.
- Build, optimize, and maintain cutting-edge tools that assess earnings fluctuations and enhance modeling accuracy.
- Leverage your experience with ArcVal and ALFA to support critical financial reporting needs.
- Ensure the company's results meet reporting requirements by establishing and maintaining robust controls over valuation systems, processes, and databases.
- Provide in-depth documentation for all key assumptions supporting the development of financials.
- Support external auditors during reviews and contribute to financial reporting processes and procedures.
- Stay ahead of the curve by keeping current with regulatory requirements and recommending necessary adjustments to financial reporting.
- Take on additional responsibilities to support the company's broader organizational goals and objectives.
What You Bring:
- A Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent experience.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Access, Advanced Excel, and experience with ArcVal, MG ALFA, or similar modeling platforms.
- At least 5 years of experience in a professional actuarial role, working with various insurance products, and a deep understanding of FAS 60, FAS 91, and FAS 97 accounting models.
- Knowledge of FASB's targeted improvements for long-duration contracts, and experience with traditional life, A&H (Med Supp, CI, Cancer & Accident products), deferred fixed interest annuities, indexed annuities, and separate account products.
- PBR (Principles-Based Reserves)/VM-20 experience is a plus.
- Hands-on experience coding, validating, and maintaining valuation systems.
