A rapidly growing regional bank is looking to add a key hire to their Credit Risk Reporting & Analytics team. This individual will have the opportunity to work closely with the Head of Credit Risk and the Chief Credit Officer to lead the modeling and estimation process for loan loss reserves on their substantial commercial (C&I) and real estate portfolio.
The right candidate will bring strong expertise in credit risk methodologies and CECL reporting and commercial banking, alongside excellent data analytics and reporting skills.
Responsibilities:
- Clean, structure and analyze large unstructured datasets in order to draw key insights and monitor economic trends and performance within the firm's portfolio, largely derived from Excel
- Leverage wide range of data and economic variables in order to calculate and monitor various loan loss parameters such as PD, LGD, EAD, etc.
- Execute, document and present the quarterly CECL and allowance for credit loss estimation processes
- Collaborate across the bank in order to explain the parameters and impact of credit risk/estimated losses and continually seek to enhance the process as well as credit quality and performance
- Assist in the ongoing improvement and automation of loan loss reserve calculation and reporting
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) in a quantitative field such as Finance, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Economics or Accounting
- 4+ years of experience in credit risk modeling and analytics
- Excellent knowledge of CECL accounting standard, loan loss reserve calculations and methodologies
- Experience working in a commercial banking environment, preferably with C&I or CRE experience
- Expertise leveraging Moody's Impairment Studio and other Moody's solutions (Data Buffet, etc.)
- Demonstrated skillset in SQL and Advanced Excel, able to extract, manipulate and restructure large datasets
- Fundamental understanding of Financial and Economic principals
