Job Overview:

A leading private equity firm is seeking a Director of Capital Formation to join the team. The individual will have a proven track record of success growing AUM at similar size firms and has strong knowledge of private equity products.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the capital formation efforts for new private equity funds and investment vehicles.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with institutional investors, including pension funds, endowments, family offices, sovereign wealth funds, and other capital providers.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to raise capital from a diverse investor base.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to shape the firm's investment strategy and structure fundraising materials, including presentations, private placement memoranda, and due diligence materials.
  • Coordinate and lead meetings, roadshows, and events with potential investors to communicate the firm's value proposition and investment opportunities.
  • Analyze and understand investor needs, preferences, and trends in the private equity market to tailor fundraising efforts and product offerings.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with investors, providing regular updates on fund performance, market conditions, and strategic initiatives.
  • Manage investor relations and assist in the creation of reporting and presentations to keep investors informed and engaged.
  • Stay abreast of market developments, industry trends, and competitive landscape to inform capital raising strategies.
  • Work closely with the investment team, legal, compliance, and operations to ensure the smooth execution of capital raising processes.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in capital formation, fundraising, or investor relations, preferably within private credit, private equity, venture capital or asset management.
  • Strong track record of successfully raising capital from institutional investors.
  • In-depth knowledge of the private equity industry, investment products, and capital markets.
  • Established relationships with a broad range of institutional investors and intermediaries.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly motivated, results-oriented, and capable of driving initiatives with limited supervision.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
