AVP Commercial Credit Origination Underwriting
Position Overview:
Lead and manage a team of credit analysts, assisting in making informed credit decisions for existing and potential borrowers. Support senior management in overseeing daily operations, special projects, staff training, and other delegated duties. Prepare and present commercial credit requests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Peer Reviews & Training: Conduct peer reviews of loan presentations and train new credit analysts.
- Procedure Updates: Review and recommend updates to department procedures.
- Management Coordination: Coordinate weekly agenda items for management meetings and resolve issues as needed.
- Pipeline Oversight: Maintain oversight of pipeline reporting and attend weekly meetings.
- Special Projects: Oversee special projects assigned by senior management.
- Credit Analysis: Perform commercial credit analysis, including reviewing credit reports, financial statements, appraisals, and more.
- Collateral Analysis: Analyze collateral assets such as receivables, inventory, equipment, and real estate.
- Financial Analysis: Prepare and analyze financial statement spreads to assess credit strengths and weaknesses.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers to gather additional information during the underwriting process.
- Trend & Risk Analysis: Conduct detailed trend analysis and identify business, industry, and market risks.
- Sector Comparison: Apply sector analysis to compare companies to their peers.
- Loan Solutions: Evaluate and determine options for loans outside approved parameters.
- Vendor Coordination: Order and verify underwriting items and process transactions with vendors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, with at least 5 years of relevant commercial credit experience.
- Coverage of ABL lines of credit/borrowing based
- Currently at a bank or large commercial lender
- Strong customer service and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, financial statement software, and CRM.
