P&C Insurance Controller

Our team has just partnered with a leading company in the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry, committed to delivering innovative solutions and exceptional service to our clients. Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to join their team to help drive financial excellence. As the Controller, you will be at the helm of our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance in all financial reporting. With your extensive experience in the P&C insurance sector, you will provide strategic financial insights and lead a high-performing team to support our growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Leadership: Oversee all accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies and forecasts that align with our business goals.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal controls. Mitigate financial risks through proactive management and oversight.
  • Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Manage the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing financial forecasts to guide decision-making.
  • Performance Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Present financial reports and insights to the executive team, board of directors, and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 year's experience in accounting and finance, ideally with a strong background in the P&C insurance industry.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
