Lead Actuarial Risk Modeler

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cyber and Catastrophe Analytics: Utilize vendor cyber models and advanced analytics to support various risk management and underwriting functions.
  • Research and Model Evaluation: Develop benchmarks, validate model components, and present findings and recommendations to stakeholders. Conduct ongoing research in cyber risk and man-made accumulation risks.
  • Model Development: Leverage specialized actuarial and cyber expertise to create and enhance risk models for cyber threats, man-made accumulation risks, and natural catastrophes.
  • Training and Collaboration: Share expertise and research on relevant topics through training and collaboration with the broader Tokio Marine Group to elevate knowledge across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field; an advanced degree or professional actuarial certifications (ACAS/FCAS) is a plus.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in cyber risk modeling, actuarial work, or catastrophe modeling and analytics, with a proven track record in developing and validating risk models within the P&C (re)insurance industry.
  • Expert proficiency in vendor cyber models and a comprehensive understanding of related frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical, simulation, and stochastic modeling techniques.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, or similar tools.
  • In-depth understanding of man-made accumulation risks and the current state of knowledge in the field.
  • Experience applying actuarial expertise in catastrophe modeling and risk analytics.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to build relationships and networks across teams.
  • Experience in project management is a bonus.
  • A flexible and proactive mindset, with a passion for learning.
