AVP E&S Primary Casualty Underwriter
Job Summary: My client is seeking an experienced E&S Primary Casualty Underwriter to join their dynamic team based in Atlanta. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of underwriting experience, a strong background in working with wholesalers, and a proven track record of successfully managing new and renewal accounts. This role requires a highly motivated individual with excellent analytical skills, the ability to build strong relationships, and a deep understanding of the E&S casualty market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Underwrite new and renewal primary casualty accounts, assessing risks and determining appropriate terms and conditions.
- Partner closely with wholesalers to develop and maintain strong relationships, ensuring efficient and effective business development and client service.
- Evaluate risks, loss experience, and exposures to determine appropriate pricing and coverage for a variety of industries and accounts.
- Work with underwriting managers and team members to ensure portfolio profitability while adhering to company guidelines and objectives.
- Analyze claims data, market trends, and loss history to make informed underwriting decisions and recommendations.
- Ensure that all underwriting submissions are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist in the development of underwriting strategies and contribute to achieving business growth targets.
- Maintain effective communication with internal teams, brokers, and clients to ensure a seamless underwriting process and resolve any issues promptly.
- Stay informed on industry developments, emerging risks, and changes in regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in E&S primary casualty underwriting, with a proven track record in managing new and renewal accounts.
- Strong knowledge of the casualty insurance market and risk assessment principles.
- Experience working with wholesalers and developing partnerships to drive business growth.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to analyze complex risk data and make informed underwriting decisions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field preferred.
- Professional certifications (CPCU, RPLU, etc.) are a plus.
