Position Overview:
We are looking for an exceptionally qualified NLP Engineer to join our team. This is a highly specialized role focused on utilizing deep learning to process and analyze large-scale, unstructured datasets. Key Responsibilities:

• Build Deep Learning Models: Develop and implement advanced deep learning models to process unstructured data at scale, leveraging state-of-the-art techniques in NLP and machine learning.
• Vendor Interaction: Work closely with vendors to analyze dataset characteristics and ensure high-quality integration.
• Data Analysis: Perform in-depth statistical analyses to extract actionable insights, presenting findings to Portfolio Managers to support data-driven decision-making.
• Research & Innovation: Continuously research new technologies and methods for improving data management, retrieval, and processing efficiency.

Requirements:

• Educational Background:

  • PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or another highly quantitative discipline. A Bachelor's degree will only be considered with extensive, highly relevant work experience.

• Professional Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in NLP (Natural Language Processing), computer vision, speech recognition, or a closely related field.
  • Proven experience in using deep learning frameworks, TensorFlow or PyTorch. You must have hands-on experience with model implementation and training.

• Technical Expertise:

  • In-depth understanding of the architecture of modern language models (e.g., BERT, GPT, Transformer-based models). You must be able to show practical experience in implementing and optimizing these models.
  • Excellent coding skills in Python and SQL. No exceptions - your ability to work with large datasets and perform exploratory and production-level analysis is crucial.

• Publications & Contributions:

  • Preference will be given to candidates with publications in top machine learning conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, ACL, EMNLP, NAACL). Please highlight any relevant publications when applying.

• Industry Experience:

  • Experience in the financial industry is highly preferred. However, it is not required. You must, however, be open to quickly learning how your skills will apply in a financial context.

• Communication & Teamwork:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You must be able to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
