They are seeking a Consulting Actuary to join their FRM team. The ideal candidate will bring experience in M&As, cash flow testing, financial reporting, ALM, and more, and will be ready to hit the ground running. Below are some of the responsibilities and qualifications for this role:

Responsibilities:

  • Involvement in a variety of assignments related to mergers & acquisitions, asset liability management, cash flow testing, valuation, financial reporting, and financial modeling.
  • Model financial projections for actuarial appraisals.
  • Develop and analyze experience studies and actuarial assumptions.
  • Perform asset adequacy analysis and cash flow testing.
  • Conduct buy-side actuarial due diligence for M&A transactions, reviewing financial metrics, assumptions, risks, and business operations.
  • Develop valuation models and processes for US statutory and GAAP reporting.
  • Assess risk and capital, including RBC and economic capital frameworks.
  • Implement financial modeling and technology solutions, with a focus on proprietary MG-ALFA and Integrate platform-based tools.
  • Participate in an immersive learning experience to familiarize with operational processes and systems for implementing risk management strategies.
  • Design and execute scalable dynamic hedging programs to manage equity guarantee risks and meet strategic objectives.
  • Price and develop new financial products for service companies.
  • Build stochastic models for hedging, GAAP, statutory valuation, and appraisals of Variable Annuities and/or Fixed Indexed Annuities businesses.
  • Conduct M&A due diligence, reviewing assumptions, risks, and operations of Variable Annuities and/or Fixed Indexed Annuities businesses.
  • Evaluate the suitability of exotic derivatives in mitigating a company's risk exposure.
  • Assess the impact of various risk management programs in M&A transactions.

Required Knowledge:

  • Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science or a similar quantitative field.
  • Attainment of the FSA designation with the Society of Actuaries (SOA).
  • A minimum of 5 years of full-time actuarial experience (excluding internship roles).

Required Skills:

  • Strong quantitative background with actuarial modeling experience in life insurance, risk management, or investments.
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial markets, portfolio management, option pricing, and derivative pricing concepts.
  • Proficiency in Excel and VBA; knowledge of SAS, C++, C#, and other programming languages is a plus.
  • Experience with MG-ALFA or similar actuarial valuation software is an asset.
  • Ability to analyze and apply creative problem-solving both independently and within a team.
  • Excellent project management skills, including communication and time management.
  • Self-motivated, intellectually curious, and results-driven work ethic.
