AVP, Tax (Canadian Funds)
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee third-party tax preparers and administrators for federal and provincial filings
- Assist with tax due diligence and compliance model setup for Canadian fund launches
- Manage non-resident withholding obligations, including calculating tax, ensuring timely submissions to the CRA, and resolving investor inquiries
- Oversee annual indirect tax filings and investor outreach efforts
- Manage external service providers and tax-related projects
- Lead tax-related projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Partner with cross-functional teams to define project scope and develop plans
Qualifications:
- CPA or equivalent professional accounting designation
- 5+ YOE in Canadian partnership and mutual fund/unit trust taxation
- Strong knowledge of Canadian partnership and mutual fund trust structures investing in foreign funds
