Associate Actuary I
Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned actuary with around 5 years of experience to join our annuity model development team. This role is ideal for an ASA pursuing an FSA or someone who already holds the FSA designation. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our model development efforts for various annuity products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement advanced modeling standards in Moody's AXIS for annuity products such as Fixed Deferred Annuities (FDA), Fixed Indexed Annuities (FIA), Single Premium Immediate Annuities (SPIA), Pension Risk Transfer (PRT), and Variable Annuities (VA).
- Document and communicate model design decisions effectively.
- Ensure compliance with model design standards and change management protocols.
- Collaborate closely with teams focused on valuation, quality assurance, and assumption setting to meet all stakeholder needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field.
- ASA designation with plans to achieve FSA within a few years, or current FSA holder.
- Minimum of five years of actuarial experience, including three years in annuity model development.
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with VM-21 reporting.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as R, Python, VBA, SQL.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
