Job Description:

Position Overview: The Actuarial Director will play a pivotal role in leading the actuarial team, providing strategic direction, and pricing for their commercial lines division. This role requires a deep understanding of actuarial principles, strong leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the actuarial team, providing mentorship and professional development.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of actuarial models and methodologies.
  • Conduct and review complex actuarial analyses to support business decisions.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, finance, and other departments to ensure alignment of actuarial strategies with business objectives.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in actuarial science.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) or Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) designation.
  • Minimum of 8 years of actuarial experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in commercial auto, workers compensation, or property insurance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proven track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Proficiency in actuarial software and tools.
