Sales & Use Tax Manager

Position Overview:
Our client, a large and well-established manufacturing company based in Atlanta, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join their growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone with 6+ years of experience in tax accounting, looking to further develop their career within a fast-paced and dynamic industry. The ideal candidate will assist in preparing tax filings, performing tax research, and supporting the overall tax compliance process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns.
  • Support the preparation of tax provisions and financial statement disclosures.
  • Research and analyze tax issues to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Assist with sales and use tax reporting and audits.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate tax reporting and compliance.
  • Help maintain tax records, working papers, and documentation for audits and other purposes.
  • Assist with the preparation of tax-related journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Support the implementation of tax strategies and assist in special tax projects as needed.
  • Help prepare and review monthly and quarterly tax reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with responding to inquiries from tax authorities and external auditors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in tax accounting or related experience.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Experience with tax compliance and preparation of tax returns.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Knowledge of tax software (e.g., OneSource, Oracle, SAP) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
