A specialist European credit investment firm is seeking an experienced Business Development professional to support the expansion of its investor base across institutional and professional capital. This London-based manager is focused exclusively on credit, with a core expertise in European stressed, distressed, and event-driven opportunities. The firm's flagship fund targets asymmetric, high-conviction positions across liquid and illiquid credit markets - including high yield bonds, senior secured debt, and bespoke structured instruments.
Their investment process blends bottom-up credit selection with a top-down macro perspective, prioritising capital preservation, disciplined risk management, and value creation in complex or mispriced situations. The founding team has a deep restructuring and special situations background, and the firm benefits from a strong sourcing network across Europe.
The Role
The successful candidate will take a lead role in investor engagement and capital raising across the firm's credit strategies. Working closely with senior leadership, you'll help shape business development strategy, build relationships across institutional and professional allocators, and represent the firm in the market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive fundraising efforts targeting institutional investors (pensions, endowments, family offices, consultants)
- Build and maintain long-term investor relationships across Europe
- Develop marketing materials, respond to RFPs/DDQs, and contribute to strategic messaging
- Conduct market mapping and competitor analysis
- Coordinate closely with investment and operations teams to ensure consistency in communications
Candidate Profile:
- Experience in capital raising, investor relations, or business development within asset management
- Strong network across European institutional or professional capital
- Deep understanding of credit markets, particularly special situations or distressed investing
- Confident communicator with the ability to translate complex strategies into clear narratives
