We are working with a leading multi-strategy systematic hedge fund that is seeking an exceptional Data Scientist to join their Data Search & Analytics team. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with the Research and Trading desks to enhance productivity and efficiency, directly supporting high-quality investment returns.
In this role, you will:
- Source and Onboard New Datasets: Identify, design, and integrate new datasets according to trading desks' priorities.
- Master Internal Tools: Become an expert on the fund's internal tools to assist relevant desks in using data effectively in trading systems.
- Solve Data-Related Problems: Proactively address data issues to minimize time to production.
- Manage Data Projects: Oversee the full lifecycle of data sourcing projects, including data acquisition, exploration, engineering, prototyping, and production.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Advanced Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python, with additional experience in C/C++ or C# being a plus.
- Relevant Experience: Over 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer, Analyst, or Scientist.
- Educational Background: A post-graduate degree in Data Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics.
- Autonomy and Collaboration: Ability to work independently within a global team of researchers and data engineers.
- Financial Data Expertise: Experience with Bloomberg or Reuters data ecosystems.
- Interest in Financial Markets: A keen interest in financial markets, data analysis, and programming.
- Problem-Solving Skills: A fast learner with intellectual curiosity and strong problem-solving abilities.
- High-Performance Environment: Ability to thrive in a high-performance, high-velocity environment.
- Excellent Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
