Job Title: Senior Risk Analyst
POSITION SUMMARY:
An established energy company is seeking a Senior Risk Analyst to leverage an ETRM system (RightAngle) for analyzing and reporting daily mark-to-market valuations, risk positions, basis changes, and profit/loss results. The ideal candidate is adept at navigating complex data and facilitating informed decision-making.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Utilize an ETRM system (RightAngle) to conduct accurate mark-to-market valuations, assess risk positions, track basis changes, and report daily P&L results.
- Standardize processes for efficient reporting and risk analysis, emphasizing daily profit/loss variations and position exposure.
- Ensure compliance with company trading policies and position limits.
- Assist in configuring trading strategies within RightAngle to optimize trade capture and reporting, as well as support system enhancements and testing.
- Evaluate existing market risk controls and middle office procedures while contributing to process improvements.
- Collaborate with key teams such as Credit, Finance, and IT, providing expertise on risk-related business and technical matters.
- Train traders and schedulers on deal entry to ensure accurate reporting within the system.
- Validate daily pricing inputs and address any inconsistencies or missing data.
- Develop and maintain procedural documentation for deal input, middle office operations, and reporting workflows.
- Support accounting teams in reconciling risk estimates with financial statements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a financial or energy trading environment.
Skills & Attributes:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly pivot tables.
- Experience with an ETRM system, preferably RightAngle.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Solid understanding of market exposure and mark-to-market reporting.
