Clearing and Risk Associate
My client, a leading proprietary trading firm is on the lookout for a Clearing and Risk Associate to be a core part of their Operations Team.
Schedule: This is a 4-day workweek role, including one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday). You'll start with a standard Monday-Friday schedule during training before switching to either Wednesday-Saturday or Sunday-Wednesday. Flexibility and reliability for weekend trading are key!
What You'll Do:
- Handle daily clearing tasks like trade capture, lifecycle management, reconciliation, and resolving breaks.
- Manage real-time risk operations, monitor trading activity, evaluate risk requests, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth trading and risk systems.
- Work directly with trading teams, brokers, exchanges, and internal stakeholders in Technology, Finance, and Operations.
- Identify process improvements and maintain detailed procedural documentation. Support the business with additional operational duties as needed.
Skills You'll Need:
- Experience: 3+ years in a related operational role, preferably in financial services Familiarity with post-trade lifecycles (Equities, Treasuries, Futures, FX, or Options) is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups) is required. Python and SQL skills are a strong plus.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with exchange connectivity, clearing systems, and trading infrastructure is advantageous.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills, process improvement experience, and the ability to handle large data volumes accurately under time constraints.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate globally.
- Adaptability: Composure during stressful situations, strong judgment in dynamic environments, and a proactive approach to decision-making.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- Reliability: Predictable availability is a must.
