Role Overview

This role is part of the firm's strategic initiative to expand its commodities physicals business. It involves supporting CTRM (Commodity Trading & Risk Management) software, as well as front-office applications and their integration with middle and back-office systems. The position is front office facing, working closely with portfolio managers, traders, and analysts to ensure seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimise commodities trading systems
  • Ensure smooth integration across front, middle, and back-office functions
  • Partner with portfolio managers, traders, analysts, and developers to resolve issues
  • Identify and implement system performance improvements
  • Provide overnight and weekend support on a rotational basis
  • Collaborate with external vendors to resolve system issues and deliver enhancements
  • Manage market data services, including Trayport, B-PIPE, and MorningStar
  • Establish clear guidelines for trade flows and procedures

Technical Requirements

  • At least five years of experience in investment banking, asset management, commodities trading, or technology support
  • Strong experience with CTRM/ETRM platforms such as ION Endur/CXL
  • Deep understanding of commodity markets, including power, gas, oil, metals, and emissions
  • Hands-on experience with trading platforms such as Trayport Joule, WebICE, and EEX
  • Technical expertise in:
    • Databases: SQL (MS-SQL)
    • Programming: C++, C#, Python
    • Messaging platforms: RabbitMQ, Solace, Kafka
    • Operating systems: Linux
