Quantitative Developer - Trading Pod
A top prop-trading firm is looking to hire a quantitative developer to support their high performing equity trading pod. The Trading Pod has a long track record of success in the systematic equity markets and leverages state of the art technology for strategy optimization. As a quant developer, you will work alongside the traders, researchers, and quant PMs and will provide quantitative support ranging from trading system enhancement projects to model production and implementation.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of professional experience at a hedge fund or prop trading firm, excellent coding skills in Python, knowledge of financial markets, and the commercial ability to communicate with stakeholders in a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop python tools and libraries to be used in research and trading
- Improve existing research and trading code to build newer and more innovative tools to be used by investment teams
- Build and implement new, agile datasets to the platform in a flexible and high performing manner
- Innovate and improve the research platform
- Build dashboards to provide portfolio managers with insights to be used for investment decision making
- Build and implement platforms to be used for quantitative modeling
- Work with quantitative modeling teams to implement new, innovative alpha models
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of relevant software engineering or quantitative development experience at a financial institution or fund
- Strong programming ability with Python, prior experience with C++ is a nice to have
- Prior experience with SQL
- Strong communication skills to interact with investment teams
