Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with ISO, PUC, and NERC regulations by monitoring and implementing market rules and procedures.
- Develop and refine operational procedures for the Trading and Real-Time teams to support a fully functional QSE in ERCOT.
- Apply deep knowledge of ISO/ERCOT market operations to analyze and implement effective market strategies, adapting as market structures evolve.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Regulatory, Trading/Scheduling, Settlements) and external entities (System Operators) to optimize BES market participation and navigate regulatory changes.
- Manage relationships with the Market Management System (MMS) vendor, ensuring system functionality aligns with Jupiter's business needs, including issue resolution and system enhancements.
- Coordinate with the SCADA team, ISO personnel, and Trading team to facilitate the commissioning of new sites and integrate them into market operations.
- Maintain a strong relationship with ISO Client Representatives to support asset onboarding and ongoing operational reporting.
- Identify potential compliance risks, conduct analysis, and recommend process improvements to strengthen internal controls.
- Assist the Applications team in designing software solutions that align with market operations requirements for BESS portfolio management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in ERCOT power market operations, including control room operations, power trading, generation scheduling, energy management, or asset management.
- Familiarity with other ISOs is preferred (CAISO, WECC, SPP, MISO, PJM, IESO, NYISO, ISONE).
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, electrical theory, power distribution, power generation, or a related field.
- Strong ability to communicate and perform effectively in high-pressure environments with rapidly changing conditions.
- High standards in risk management, performance optimization, stakeholder relationships, decision-making, and regulatory compliance.
- Self-motivated with a passion for innovation, problem-solving, and collaboration within a fast-paced environment.
