Our client, a leading systematic hedge fund, is looking for a Senior Security Engineer to join their London-based team. The Senior Security Engineer will play a key role in automating security processes, shaping architectural decisions, and leading strategic security initiatives.

In this position, you will be responsible for implementing security solutions for low-latency systems, multi-cloud platforms, and secure hybrid infrastructures across Python, C++, and Kotlin/Java environments. Additionally, you will support the deployment of security controls and processes for product security, working closely with engineering and product teams to integrate security into product design and development. Your expertise in securing large-scale software systems in a fast-paced environment will be essential to success in this role

Responsibilities:

• Implement security controls and processes across core trading infrastructure, cloud services, and business applications in both Windows and Linux environments.
• Work closely with engineering and product teams to embed security into product design and development, leveraging expertise in securing large-scale software systems in fast-moving environments.
• Help establish and maintain a secure software development lifecycle (SDLC), emphasizing secure coding practices in Python, C++, Rust, Go, and Kotlin/Java.
• Conduct threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and security code reviews to ensure security is integrated throughout the development lifecycle.
• Perform security assessments of third-party vendors to ensure compliance with company security standards.
• Integrate security scanning tools (SAST, DAST, etc.) into CI/CD pipelines and runtime environments, enabling continuous security monitoring across Alibaba Cloud, AWS, Azure, and on-prem systems.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in product security or similar roles, with extensive hands-on experience in securing software development at scale.
• Proven expertise in secure coding practices and software development using Python, C++, Rust, Go, and Kotlin/Java.
• Strong technical background in software development, system architecture, and security tools.
• Deep understanding of security principles, techniques, and technologies related to software security, cloud platforms, and business applications. Experience with low-latency financial systems is a plus.
• Proficiency in securing both Windows and Linux environments.
• Extensive experience with hybrid cloud platforms, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Alibaba Cloud.
• Strong knowledge of threat modeling, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies for complex, large-scale systems.
• Hands-on experience integrating security scanning tools into CI/CD pipelines and runtime environments.
• Experience conducting vendor security assessments and managing third-party security compliance.
