A leading independent provider of corporate and fund services to the financial sector is looking for an MLRO to join their Luxembourg office. The ideal candidate will be client-focused, service-oriented, professionally minded, committed, and possess strong interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
Help create quarterly and annual AML/CTF reports for the Board of Directors.
Handle relevant reporting to the FIU and Ministry of Finance by preparing, investigating, reviewing, or submitting necessary documents.
Participate actively in the Risk and Compliance Committee by preparing for and attending meetings.
Take responsibility for all AML/CFT-related issues affecting the company.
Perform AML/CFT due diligence with assistance from the first and second lines of defence, and prepare various routine and ad-hoc reports for the board, committees, and regulatory authorities.
Collaborate with oversight teams for AML/CFT supervision of third parties, ongoing screening, and transaction monitoring when appropriate.
Enhance and implement the AML/CFT framework, including risk analysis, compliance monitoring plans, and AML/CFT control measures.
Provide advice on AML/CTF policies and collaborate with the business to address significant policy breaches and violations, including external reporting when required.
Regularly review and update AML/CFT policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
Act as a consultant to the Board of Directors, Daily Directors, and staff on AML/CFT-related issues.
Support the first line of defence in reviewing client due diligence documents and assessing potential new clients.
Provide guidance on applying and interpreting AML-CFT laws, regulations, and policies from a compliance and regulatory perspective.
Develop and maintain robust AML-CFT policies, procedures, and practices to cover regulated activities and regulatory requirements.
Identify, assess, and manage ML-FT regulatory risks.
Maintain registers of politically exposed persons, new businesses, SRTs, and SARs.
Actively participate and contribute to the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of tailored compliance and regulatory services offered to fund and corporate clients, such as RC function, FATCA-CRS, GDPR, DAC 6, etc.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in civil law, corporate law, or a related discipline, or equivalent.
At least five years of senior experience in the Luxembourg financial service industry with a strong understanding of KYC/AML framework and recent legislative developments.
Experience in the fund and corporate services industry.
Ability to identify and manage ML-FT risks and policies effectively.
Strong research, analytical, and reporting skills.
Excellent planning, time management, and interpersonal skills.
Fluency in English; knowledge of French is an advantage.
Self-motivated, with the drive and initiative to excel.
