Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Controller to join our client in Chicago. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in financial management within the banking industry, along with a CPA certification and a Series 27 license.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Manage the preparation of financial statements and reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to optimize the bank's financial performance.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support overall business objectives and strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor and manage the bank's liquidity, capital, and risk management processes.
  • Coordinate audits and ensure timely and accurate completion of all audit requirements.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure the bank remains compliant and competitive.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • CPA certification is required.
  • Series 27 license is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management within the banking industry.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
