Associate General Counsel

An innovative global technology company, at the forefront of the automotive industry, is seeking an Associate General Counsel to support its growing operations in Europe. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced legal professional to join a forward-thinking company working on the future of mobility, with a focus on software-defined vehicles and electrification technologies.

This company develops and builds innovative products at the forefront of the mobility revolution. The successful candidate will provide strategic legal support across a range of business functions, ensuring compliance and assisting in key decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal counsel on a wide variety of matters.
  • Contract: draft and negotiate commercial agreements with customers, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Risk Mitigation Strategies: identify and manage legal risks related to new business opportunities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Complinace: advise on enforcement, disputes, terminations, and distressed supplier issues, ensuring contracts are effectively managed and executed.
  • Support M&A activities, litigation management, and various corporate governance matters.
  • Deliver training sessions for cross-functional teams, including purchasing, sales, and marketing, on various legal topics.
  • Assist with employment-related legal matters
  • Advise on environmental, health & safety (EHS) concerns.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 10-15 years of professional legal experience in contract law, business transactions, M&A, litigation, and employment matters.
  • Fully Qualified in Germany or Internationally
  • Fluent in both German and English, with strong written and spoken communication skills.
  • Experience in a global or large-scale corporate setting, ideally with prior in-house legal experience.
  • Proven expertise in automotive industry
  • Ideally experience in supply chain and supplier-related legal issues from Automotive industry.
  • Understanding of intellectual property law, including trademark matters, is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective relationships with senior management and other key stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining focus and professionalism.
