Software Engineer - Research Infrastructure

A leading systematic investment firm is looking for a Software Engineer to join the team responsible for building a scalable research compute platform. This platform will serve as a foundation for research teams across the business - streamlining access to compute, improving work flow efficiency, and enabling large-scale experimentation.

The role sits at the intersection of software engineering and infrastructure, with a focus on developing orchestration tools, services, and APIs that support secure, reliable, and scalable access to computational resources.

What you'll be working on:

  • Building APIs, libraries, and services that power a research platform used by quants and engineers across the business
  • Designing orchestration systems to manage job scheduling, compute clusters, and observability across multiple environments
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver a secure and seamless platform experience
  • Helping shape the direction of a platform that supports high-performance computing at scale

What they're looking for:

  • Strong engineering fundamentals and experience working on complex back-end or infrastructure systems
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience coding in Go
  • Proven experience designing distributed systems
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitLab, GitHub Actions, etc.)
  • Knowledge of security tooling (Vault, AWS IAM, LDAP, etc.)
  • Experience building and deploying on cloud platforms (especially AWS)
  • Bonus: interest in HPC environments, compute infrastructure, or data centres

This is a high-impact engineering role with plenty of autonomy, technical breadth, and cross-team exposure.
