Job Brief: Seeking a highly motivated and skilled Private Equity Associate to join a growing team in Chicago. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial modeling and deal execution. This role involves evaluating investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, managing portfolio companies, and supporting equity and some debt-related transactions.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate Investment Opportunities: Conduct comprehensive industry and market research to identify potential investment opportunities.
- Due Diligence: Assist in the due diligence process by analyzing and evaluating potential investments, including financial statements and market conditions.
- Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models to predict investment outcomes and assess the viability of equity and some debt financing.
- Deal Execution: Support the execution of transactions, including coordinating with legal, accounting, and other professionals.
- Investment Memorandums: Prepare investment memorandums and other documents for presentation to the investment committee.
- Communication: Communicate with executives of portfolio companies to discuss operational and strategic issues.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. MBA or CFA preferred.
- Experience: Proven work experience in private equity, investment banking, or related fields.
- Skills: Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, excellent communication and negotiation abilities, and proficiency in using quantitative tools and techniques.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, able to make sound investment decisions under pressure, and confident in presenting investment opportunities.
