Buyside ABS Credit Risk Specialist
Responsibilities:
- Underwrite counterparties for mortgage-related transactions, including evaluating the risk profile of Originators, Servicers, and Sponsors.
- Make risk decisions and assessments, challenge business teams, and highlight key counterparty risk concerns promptly.
- Participate in the deal underwriting process from start to finish, especially for high-risk or under performing counterparties.
- Collaborate with Legal, Credit Risk, and deal teams to ensure accurate loan agreements.
- Work closely with control function partners on reputational risk and management presentations.
- Present risk concerns, due diligence findings, and make risk recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Produce well-written, succinct reviews and assessments.
Requirements:
- 4-10 years of experience in 1st or 2nd line role
- Proven track record in underwriting for mortgage-related counterparties
- Ability to write detailed reviews and memos
- Expertise in REITs, ABS, CLOs
