Boston-based hedge fund manager is seeking an ambitious attorney to join their progressive legal team. This team covers the various business challenges of a growing hedge fund that invests in over 50 countries, and that is rolling out new products. This company is fast paced and hard working and because of that, they have been recognized internationally for their performance.
Responsibilities of the Counsel
Advising on laws and regulations both in the United States and internationally, that affect trading, operations and compliance obligations
Drafting and negotiating documents to launch and administer new products and services
Assisting the investment management team in analyzing and structuring transactions;
Face off and partner with counterparties such as brokers, banks, partners in joint ventures, and the parties on the opposite side of negotiated transactions.
Interfacing with and managing outside counsel.
Requirements for the position include
Three to six years of experience at a major law firm or top hedge fund/asset manager
Ability to draft and understand complex agreements and transactions
Strong academic credentials and the desire to work with academically-oriented colleagues in a dynamic environment where robust debate is encouraged
Familiarity with the Investment Advisers Act and other regulations relevant to hedge funds a plus (also familiarity with the Securities Act of 1933 and/or Securities Exchange Act of 1934 a plus)
Experience in investment management and/or hedge funds a plus.
Juris Doctorate or equivalent.
